About me
I am a full professor in the Department of Computing at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná. I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, University of São Paulo, in 2016. Previously, I was a visiting scholar at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, USA. Currently, I am a core faculty member in the Postgraduate Program in Computer Science at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná, at the Campo Mourão campus, Brazil.
Since 2007, I have been teaching various courses related to computing at the undergraduate, graduate, and technical education levels. The courses I have taught the most frequently are Database Management Systems and Advanced Databases. From 2017 to 2018, I was the course coordinator for the Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at UTFPR. I have also participated in several technical and scientific committees and carried out various administrative activities related to the undergraduate programs at UTFPR.
My research interests include modeling, analyzing, and implementing Process-aware Information Systems, Data Science, and Machine Learning. Recently, my research has focused on applying computing to address real-world challenges in education and biodiversity. I am interested in Data Science in Education and Machine Learning for supporting Herbarium Tasks.
